Shannon let’s you know that this year she decided to “invest in herself.” She joined Durham Toastmasters as she wanted to hone her public speaking skills. It paid off, when she led a Storytelling with your Data workshop at two Women in Tech (WIT) Summits in Chicago and Raleigh. WIT supports TechGirlz, a non-profit that inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology, where Shannon also volunteers. She explains you have to work hard to play hard; as a matter of fact, she’s heading to Scotland soon to celebrate her wedding anniversary.
